NEW ARTIST: Jake Evans

Dear Jake Evans,
You are easy on our soul and our ears and we love you. That is all.
Love,
16 Clefs

In all seriousness, we are digging the single from Macclesfield’s native Jake Evans. (Macclesfield is in England, we checked.) A small, very small part of Jake’s vocal style reminds me of Chris Martin, but I refer to it as Chris Martin with balls. (No offense to Mr. Martin.)

A little background on Mr. Evans: Prior to his solo journey, Jake was was in Rambo & Leroy and then joined Bad Lieutenant as a songwriter, co-front-man and guitarist. Bad Lieutenant featured Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris of New Order fame along with Blur’s Alex James. (Yeah, we were blown away too.)

His debut album “Day One” will be released at a TBD in 2014 and we are waiting patiently for that day. Until then, check out the video for “Easy on My Soul” below and let us know what you think in the comments.
