In case you missed it, Racing NSW announced legendary Australian dance duo Peking Duk will perform a free concert for racegoers at the TAB Everest on Saturday, 15 October 2022 at the Royal Randwick.
Peking Duk will perform new music for race-goers in an exclusive, 45-minute set for all TAB Everest ticket holders after the last race, in the Theatre of the Horse.
This is the fifth year the TAB Everest will be run, with previous events featuring free performances for racegoers from globally renowned artists including Jason Derulo, Liam Payne and Kelly Rowland.
With the support of Peking Duk, this year’s TAB Everest race is set to be bigger and better than ever with a massive $1 million increase to prize money and massive crowds of 40,000 expected.
In addition to new tunes, the ARIA-winning Canberra natives will perform double and triple platinum hits “Take Me Over” and “High” amongst their catalogue of hits.
Peking Duk burst onto the scene in 2012 with the release of a Passion Pit bootleg remix. Multi-platinum singles followed, with 5 ‘Top 40’ AU Chart Singles, 2 ARIA Award wins and in excess of 530 million streams on all platforms.
Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, better known collectively as Peking Duk, have sold out consecutive headline tours at home in Australia, toured internationally and become staples on the festival circuit; earning themselves a reputation as Australia’s most beloved and bonkers electronic music act. They’ve collaborated with the likes of Jack River, Icona Pop, The Wombats, Elliphant, Sarah Aarons, AlunaGeorge to name a few.
Thrilled to celebrate the return of live music following the COVID pandemic, Peking Duk said of their upcoming appearance:
There’s nothing we love more than playing in our hometown of Sydney live and we are back! The last three years have been an incredibly tough time for the music industry and beyond from the pandemic forcing events to cancel and now the floods hurting outdoor events. To have the opportunity to play at a huge event is super exciting, especially a few hundreds of metres from the street we called home when we first moved into Sydney. Everest is going to be full of good times and great tunes and it will be so good to see everyone in the crowd up and dancing after a big day. The end of the year will see us releasing new music which we will be performing alongside all our classics and crowd favourites
