COVER: “Wrecking Ball”

I am a big fan of cover songs, especially great cover songs that can strip away the perceived notion or idea of a song and expose the real beauty of a song. I think Ásgeir does that brilliantly with his cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”. I have always said that lyrically “Wrecking Ball” was a solid song, but ruined by the vision of the pop tart swinging around on a wrecking ball and licking a sledgehammer. Her abrasiveness ruined the delicateness of the song and Ásgeir redeems the song beautifully.
