I think Mr LaMontagne has found his inner sunshine with the title track “Supernova” from his forthcoming fifth studio album of the same name. “Supernova” is infectious, catchy, and has Ray’s signature soulful and passionate voice.
If you’re a fan of Ray, the happiness vibe to this song might be a little surprising. Especially if you’re use to the slower, heartache songs of Ray. “Supernova” is upbeat, happy, and I can easily imagine it in a deceivingly sweet and sugar coated 70’s show like the Partridge Family or The Brady Bunch.
“Supernova” the album is scheduled for release May 6, 2014 and is produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
