Naarm (Melbourne) artist Rinse, aka the talented Joe Agius, joins forces once again with the enchanting Hatchie for their latest single and visual masterpiece, “Kiss Me (Kill Me).”
On the spellbinding collaboration, Rinse says,
‘Kiss Me (Kill Me)’ began late last year in a similar premise to ‘Back Into Your Arms’, in that originally it was an idea we were exploring for a Hatchie song that quickly turned into a Rinse one. I guess you could call it a spiritual successor?
Diving deep into the tumultuous journey of trying to salvage a love on the brink of collapse, the song is a poignant blend of heartbreak and hope, wrapped in layers of 90s reverb and shimmering guitars.
Rinse shares,
“For me the song treads the line of a relationship that is as much pain as it is passion, and the ecstasy and agony of trying to hold onto fragments of a shattered romance.”
“Kiss Me (Kill Me)” transports listeners to a nostalgic soundscape reminiscent of a late summer night, where the air is thick with emotion and the promise of both love and loss hangs heavy. With Hatchie‘s ethereal vocals gracefully intertwined with Rinse‘s lush instrumentation, the song captures the highs and lows of a relationship teetering on the edge, evoking a sense of bittersweet nostalgia.
“Kiss Me (Kill Me)” is yet another testament to Rinse’s artistry and offers one a glimpse into the raw and vulnerable beauty of love in all its complexity.
