ALBUM REVIEW: Break the Chain by JJ Pinestone

With Break The Chain, set to release on December 13th,, Finnish rocker JJ Pinestone delivers a high-octane homage to the golden era of 80s rock while crafting a fresh and modern identity. The album’s seven tracks take one on an electrifying journey through themes of perseverance, self-discovery, and the unrelenting spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.

The title track opens with a punch, blending empowering themes with a driving rhythm that embodies the album’s core message: breaking free from repetitive cycles and forging your own path. Tracks like “Killshot” and “On My Own” showcase Pinestone’s versatility and seamlessly merge heavy riffs with melodic undertones. “Killshot,” the album’s lead single, stands out for its raw energy that combines modern metal influences with classic rock riffs.

On the album,

“Live as you wish, Don’t take shit from anybody and dream big. This is just the beginning of another rock’n roll icon in the making.”

With its gritty instrumentation and reflective narrative, the ballad-esque “On My Own” carries an emotional weight that evolves into a soaring 80s-inspired solo. In contrast, “Fool’s Anthem” blends an experimental mix of rap-inspired delivery and straightforward rock that is a biting commentary on manipulation and ego.

“The Run” captures the essence of rock freedom by delivering fast-paced melodies that inspire living life with reckless abandon. A relentless closer that combines adrenaline-fueled riffs and blistering solos, the energy peaks in “Chiefs of Speed” and cements the album’s position as a celebration of rock’s enduring spirit.

If you’re ready to rock, then JJ Pinestone and Break the Chain are going to deliver 80s-inspired anthems with a modern twist by channelling rock glory!
