LISTEN: “Pages You’ll Never Read” by Elke Schon

Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Elke Schon showcases her artistic evolution with her latest single, “Pages You’ll Never Read.” After a two-year break to refine her sound, the 19-year-old indie pop talent unveils a track that bridges intimate storytelling with a rich blend of folk and pop influences.

Produced by Tom Megalos (ZZADE, Happy Valley), the song is carried by a wistful electric guitar melody that perfectly underscores Elke’s heartfelt vocal delivery. Her voice captures the emotional weight of the track, pulling listeners into the turmoil of longing and unrequited emotions. The hazy instrumentation creates an atmospheric backdrop, enhancing the vulnerability embedded in the lyrics.

Elke explains,

“I wanted to shift the sound of my music to something more in line with pop folk since I had been listening to a lot of George Harrison and The Sundays.”

With its raw emotional depth and polished sonic identity, this fresh direction feels authentic and grounded and signals a leap from her earlier work like “Talk To Me.” The song’s themes of  yearning, frustration, and self-reflection are universally relatable, yet they are expressed with a personal touch that feels distinctly hers.

Elke’s ability to craft a track that resonates on multiple levels while remaining true to her artistic vision is a testament to her growth as a songwriter.
