Ahead of his latest single, “Walker” that is coming out on January 26th, writer and producer Sky Ainsbury, artistically known as Sky_A was super kind to join us for an early morning coffee (at least early on his side of the world, and nighttime for our side of the world) to discuss the song, his upcoming album, and how his synesthesia is an asset to creativity.
The recent graduate of computational arts worked with drummer Adam Betts and producer Aneek Thapar on the album and he has said this about the album,
“This is world-building for me. There is a big story to be told. Each track is a scene, and as far as possible I have instruments representing characters. It’s my “Swan Lake”. I’ll shut my eyes and see these elements like a rolling landscape – sometimes it’s serene and beautific, and sometimes it’s like barbed wire and collapsed concrete buildings. That’s what I want a listener to see when they hear this.”
