DEBUT ALBUM REVIEW: Deep Blue Dreams by Llucid

Musician. Singer. Producer.

Another notch that Llucid can add to his belt is his debut album, Deep Blue Dreams.

Pushing creative boundaries of not just rap trap and pop but all genres with ease and grace, Llucid has created an album that showcases 12 songs that blend poignant lyrics, piano, and futuristic beats into a sonic experience that knows no borders.

There’s a wonderful sense of confidence to Llucid’s voice and it shines in the stand out collaboration track, “Wasting Time” featuring Kimbra and also the tracks “Measure by the Crate” featuring Better Known As and “Porcelain” featuring Elijah Malik.

Llucid didn’t only collaborate vocally for Deep Blue Dreams. He collaborated with artist Edgar Koop, whose painting is the cover art for the album. The art further creates a dreamy and ethereal world that has been sonically built by Llucid for Deep Blue Dreams.

Crafting each note, each beat, and each lyric with a keen ear, Llucid has been able to blur borders of genres and without the borders, he’s produced an innovative touch that feels familiar and new at the same time. The duality allows the listener to fall into a familiar groove while simultaneously sending them travelling through time and space into that future that’s dreamy and ethereal through his music and lyrics.

Llucid‘s debut album Deep Blue Dreams takes listeners on a mesmerising journey through genre and imagination and quietly allows them to escape reality into a fantasy that’s sonically magnificent.
