Bad Knees, the fresh-faced trio hailing from Edinburgh, have released their debut single “Something in the Water”.
Composed of singer-songwriter Michael Jewitt, drummer David Morris, and bassist Matthew McGarry, the band has garnered attention for their unique blend of early punk, Nirvana-esque grunge, and a sprinkle of Britpop flair.
Infusing their music with both infectious melodic hooks and gritty raw energy, Bad Knees’ debut single is a dynamic showcase of their musical range and influences.
Recorded at Groove Tunnel by Rod ‘the mod’ Spark and mixed and mastered by Andrew McLeod, “Something in the Water” is just one part of a trio of tracks that also includes “Rotten Teeth” and “French Bulldog.” The debut release not only highlights the band’s versatility but also sets the stage for their burgeoning career in the alternative music scene.
With their unapologetic sound in “Something in the Water” and undeniable charisma, Bad Knees are paying homage to the music’s rebellious roots while delivering a punchy blend of punk attitude and melodies.
