Say hello to Ivan Moult.
From his home studio in Cardiff, Ivan Moult played, recorded, engineered, and mixed all of the instruments on upcoming album Songs from Severn Grove (Bubblewrap Collective).
Ivan’s previous albums, Second Guessing and Longest Shadow, garnered support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Wales, and Folk Radio UK. He’s played his fair share of festivals like Cornbury Festival, Folk on The Dock, and Festival of Voice, and supported This Is The Kit, Becca Mancari, and Willy Mason.
For Songs from Severn Grove, Ivan charts his journey from the 2020 lockdown to becoming a father to relationships, allowing fans a glimpse into his own personal development.
The first single from Songs from Severn Grove, is “Out of Time” and Ivan says this about the song,
Lyrically it’s a song reflecting on the nature of life and finding meaning in making the most of things and living in the moment. Sonically the song started off after I’d been listening to Paul Mcartney’s ‘Ram’ album and it was quite driving whilst also relaxed but in production it ended up more reverb washed and dreamy.
Ivan matches that dreaminess in “Out of Time”. The song has an easy, quiet, and subdued 70’s folky vibe with a wonderful dreamy sway.
