EP REVIEW: Split EP by The Gundown and Day Drinker

2 bands. 6 songs. 1 EP.

The Split EP features three tracks each from The Gundown and Day Drinker.

With the first three songs belonging to the trio known as The Gundown, with members who had previously made their marks in brilliant bands like Vöndanikens, Serpent, and Crimm, the band’s signature style, a captivating blend of punk and rock, is as electrifying as ever. With Split EP, they are not only celebrating their 15th anniversary but celebrating their debut on Rebellion Records with their three new tracks.

The latter of Split EP finds Day Drinker which began as a solo project by Ronny Hamersma (known for his work with The Reapers and Crown Court) and evolved into a full-fledged band with Ronny splitting vocal duties with guitarist Jane (Suicidal Taxi, Malad). The EP marks their first original recordings with their current line up and showcases Day Drinker’s blistering and working-class punk-rock sound.

With both bands celebrating  milestones, Split EP is full of passionate punk rock, ensuring the spirit of punk lives on. The only complaint…there’s only three songs from each band.
