Soulful and full of heart and emotion.
The latest single from Beck Pete, “Bite Down” teeters between ballsy admission and divine revelation.
On her unapologetic manner, Beck says,
In a world where strength is encouraged, and expression of feeling has been painted as the opposite of strength, I’m over here arguing that one cannot exist without the other.”
That strength in attitude only helps to fuel the strength of Beck’s music, be it vocally or lyrically. While “Bite Down” is about the extremism of human nature, Beck has jumped into the deep waters herself and fully acknowledged what it means to show all sides of the human journey through her music.
With “Bite Down” she offers one the chance to see both sides of the coin, the yin and the yang, the good and the bad, and the beautiful and ugly.
What I really enjoy about “Bite Down” are Beck’s vocals and how she carries the duality forward through her voice. Beck’s vocals are both fierce and strong and soft and airy. The double edge sword of her voice allows her to cut through the bullshit and show emotions that could hide within the lyrics or one’s voice.
There is no facade when it comes to “Bite Down” by Beck Pete. What you hear is what you get and what you hear and get is a ferociously catchy song with vocals that are a one, two punch to the gut, and an inspiration to be unapologetically yourself.
