We previously heaped our praise in our review of “Dead Wrestlers” by Baby Schillaci and the smoking hot track is finally out for the world to hear via the recently released video!
“Dead Wrestlers” is a rebuttal to Baz Luhrmann‘s “Everybody’s Free” and challenges the notion that we can all be anything we want to be, says the band.
“Dead Wrestlers” sonically fuses my favourite parts of their debut single, “Radical” and follow up single, “So Bad” and by doing so allows the listener to see another side of Baby Schillaci’s musical smartness.
The song kicks the sticky riffs and catchy beats up several dozen notches from “Radical” and raises the bar on the bass and drums of “So Bad” to another level. “Dead Wrestlers” bass and drums are a f’n intense punch to the face. The guitars and vocals only add to that intensity.
I still stand by initial statement, “Dead Wrestlers” is an overwhelming (in a glorious way), high energy, assault on the senses, it pushes one into the mosh pit of life, forcing them to face the savagery of this thing called life we all live…be it a good life or a bad life. Their lyrics are cunning and smart, making one question their sheer existence on this planet.
So, not only does “Dead Wrestlers” shove you into the mosh pit life, it also shoves you into an existential crisis you probably weren’t ready for either.
And that’s what makes Baby Schillaci so goddamn brilliant and that’s what makes “Dead Wrestlers” so great. Both the band and the song challenge the thoughts of the listener through their music and lyrics while producing infectious track after infectious track.
