HOT TRACK: “Degradation” by RØRY

I know RØRY from the social media accounts ADHD_Love_ or the Late Bloomers podcast, but with that rockstar energy, it wasn’t a surprise to learn she was also making waves as a singer. Her debut album Restoration hit the UK Top 10 in February, and her latest single “Degradation,” released in late August, takes her work into a heavier territory.

Built on slick guitar riffs and a pummeling rhythm section, “Degradation” leans into metal with no hesitation. By using contrast as the main engine of the track, RØRY’s vocal delivery shifts between sharp melodic lines and feral growls. Where the verses grind low, the chorus cuts open with an attack that feels less polished than raw and with more intent on force than finesse.

The mix keeps the guitars forward and unrelenting, while the drums lock the aggression into place rather than letting it collapse under its own weight. That control is what makes the chaos effective. The structure frames the menace without blunting it.

“Degradation” doesn’t aim for restraint. It’s a song that wants to be in your face, and it succeeds by channeling frustration into sheer impact. For those who came to RØRY through her podcast work, this is a reminder she’s just as willing to break through walls musically as she is personally.
