HOT TRACK: “My Sanctuary” by Lord of the Lost

Lord of the Lost strike hard with their gothic-metal powerhouse, “My Sanctuary”. The track from their forthcoming album OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 (August 8th), kicks off a bold new era for the band and reintroduces the now six piece band’s heavier side.

While Chris Harms’ commanding baritone serves as the guiding force through the song’s dark and cinematic atmosphere, the gothic grandeur of the razor sharp riffs and the pummelling rhythm make “My Sanctuary” a grand opening statement for the OPVS NOIR trilogy.

On the song, the vocalist explains,

We have 33 songs to choose from, but which one will be the first single to pave the way into a new era and mark the beginning of a trilogy? We chose “My Sanctuary”, which for us is a kind of gateway song that opens the door to the world of OPVS NOIR. It shows that darkness isn’t just about sadness – for many of us, darkness is a life force.

The track thrives on contrast and balances orchestral weight with metal aggression by creating a dynamic push and pull that keeps one locked in. With “My Sanctuary”, Lord of the Lost reaffirm their mastery of fusing gothic and metal into something opulent and unrelenting.

If this is just the beginning, OPVS NOIR is shaping up to be their most ambitious work yet.
