Frank Turner has entered 2024 with a bang!
Even better to say, he’s entered his angry man stage.
Just don’t confuse his anger with white male privilege anger.
In his latest fiery song, “No Thank You for the Music”, Frank is angry, defiant and punk AF.
As for the declaration of anger? Frank sings,
‘Now I’m surprised to report that as I enter my forties, I’ve returned to being an angry man. I can see clearly now that the drugs wore off…”
On the song, he wrote on his YouTube,
“A song about defiance, rejection of mainstream culture, pride in the underground, and staying angry as you get older.”
There are two types of anger. The kind that oppresses and the kind that liberates and “No Thank You for the Music” is the latter of the two. Encouraging one to take a stand and liberate themselves and others from the shackles of those that oppress the creative talent of others.
