HOT TRACK: “What’s Become of Me” by The Terrifying Lows

Music
Shelia Taylor
October 30, 2023

For the past week, “What’s Become of Me” by The Terrifying Lows has held my musical soul captive, and the fear of not doing justice to this song or its talented creator still lingers.

My introduction to the band through their track “Love is a Weapon” ignited a love affair with their music, and “What’s Become of Me” intensifies that ardour. With its beautiful haunting bass line, uncomplicated drumming, and sultry guitars, the song is as sybaritic and unrestrained as it is profoundly captivating.

The song was written and produced by The Terrifying Lows (Gamilaroi artist Tyler Millot) with Josh Barber on drums and is not only a melodic masterpiece but reminder on identity.

As The Terrifying Lows wrote about “What’s Become of Me” on Instagram,

Based on a true story, this song was a reminder to myself to be an artist in a world full of people trying to be stars…

While The Terrifying Lows may remind themselves to cherish their identity as artists, there’s no denying that Tyler Millot, the creative force behind the project, is rapidly ascending into the firmament of music stardom with his remarkable talent and profound storytelling.
