I feel it was just yesterday when I made the declaration that with their debut song “Pr*y”, Bitter Kisses would be everyone’s favourite band of 2023!
But the four piece Bristol based band are now on their fifth single, with today’s release of “Kamikaze”!
Just like “Pr*y”, “Doctor’s Note”, “Downtown”, and “For What’s Worth”, “Kamikaze” continues with the self described vibes ‘pop music you can beat your friends up to’, but what also continues is the infectiousness of the music.
Bitter Kisses craft catchy as hell tunes. It was evident with their debut single, and grows with each track they’ve released. They’ve found a formula that works for them and it works damn well.
On the song, the band says this,
“’Kamikaze’ focuses its ire against the everyday power fantasist who does their little bits to make the world a harder place to live in. We want less of that.”
“Kamikaze” is a swaggering anthem filled with slick thick bass riffs, heavy drums, feral guitars, and visceral vocals.
I want more of that and Bitter Kisses brings it every damn time.
