Music has a remarkable ability to find us at precisely the right moment, and today, Hazlett‘s latest single, “Bones Shake,” found its way to me. Amidst the chaos of daily life and the demands of putting a roof over my head and not being able to work on Amplify the Noise, “Bones Shake” connected in a way it might not have just last week when it was released.
On the song Hazlett says,
“I think running away gets a bit of a bad name. I think it’s near impossible to clarify exactly where things went wrong or how to fix them when you’re sitting in the mess you made. Whether it’s time or distance, sometimes the further you get away the clearer it all becomes to piece things together and make your comeback.”
While I may not be fleeing from anything, the song’s introspective lyrics prompt me to ponder my own triggers, poisons, and anchors. In the midst of this introspection, “Bones Shake” itself becomes a catalyst for self-discovery.
Through is subtle guitar melodies and Hazlett‘s haunting vocals, “Bones Shake” channels a raw intensity that resonates with the loud noise of human emotion.
