Tetrarch continues to refine their signature balance of brute force and melody with “Cold,” the latest from their upcoming album The Ugly Side Of Me (May 9th). Packed with driving rhythms and razor-sharp guitar work, the track captures the band’s knack for crafting songs that hit hard while remaining irresistibly listenable.
The shredding solos and relentless energy are what drives this metal anthem. And the culprit behind those solos is guitarist Diamond Rowe. Her intricate solos add an extra layer of fire to the track and it’s no wonder why she was chosen as the first female Jackson Guitars signature artist, Diamond brings both technical prowess and a unique sonic identity that elevates the band’s sound. Her eerie, glitch-infused textures weave seamlessly into the relentless four-on-the-floor beat by creating an atmosphere that feels both urgent and unpredictable.
Not to be outshined are the lyrics as “Cold” wrestles with insecurity and the emotional weight of toxic cycles.
Diamond explains,
Insecurity is such an uncomfortable emotion to have and it easily became the lyrical direction for this track.
That raw honesty, paired with the band’s ferocious energy, makes the song as cathartic as it is crushing. It’s one of the reasons I fell in love with the band. They can give you a one two punch that’s as sonically hard as it is cerebrally hard.
Following “Never Again (Parasite)” and “Live Not Fantasize,” this single further proves that The Ugly Side Of Me is shaping up to be a defining moment for Tetrarch.
And if Diamond’s prediction is correct in that everyone is going to go nuts when the band plays it live, then fans should prepare for absolute chaos when they hit the stage.
