When I first read the title to The Final Clause of Tacitus current single, “Everybody Makes Mistakes, I Create Disasters”, I immediately thought how dare they use my unwritten autobiography title that I never thought of writing until I saw the song!
My second thought was who is Tacitus and why does he or they have a final clause? That question remains unanswered.
The Final Clause of Tacitus formed in 2016 and mix a funk, rock, and rap that is reminiscent, at least for me, Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, and super early Red Hot Chillli Peppers.
With “Everybody Makes Mistakes, I Create Disasters”, vocalist Matt Dunne explains,
This song is a self-declaration and acceptance that I mess up sometimes and that I’m far from perfect, but this is me and what you see is what you get.
What’s fantastic about “Everybody Makes Mistakes, I Create Disasters”, is that it masterfully fuses rock and rap with a brilliant booming bass, heavy guitars that kick you in the teeth, and drums that make your neck ache. The metal vibe of the song pairs so smoothly with the rap elements of the vocals that it feels that The Final Clause of Tacitus have created a genre that is all their own.
