In Middle Part‘s latest release, helmed by Andy Selkōw, “Get Fixed” embodies a poignant reflection on the bittersweet journey from childhood innocence to the acceptance of one’s present age.
On the song and artwork, Middle Part wrote this on their Instagram post,
“It’s an anthem for losing your childhood innocence and settling into your age. The bag represents my youth, with items I have fond memories of from when I was young. We poured everything we had into making this for you from start to finish and I hope you love it as much as we do.”
This inaugural track, crafted as the album opener for the debut release Disruptor, captures the album’s soul. Seamlessly blending an essence reminiscent of the raw and unfiltered moodiness prevalent in ’90s alternative music, “Get Fixed” unfolds as a visceral, candid, and vulnerable narrative. It serves as a compelling and hooky harbinger, setting a tone that intertwines the past’s emotional depth with the raw honesty of the present.
