What hit me about Ohio’s Periscians are the vocals. While there’s not a lot of information around Periscians, what I could piece together from social media is that vocals are from Aaron Eddleblute with Scott Borealis on backing vocals and Justin Kaplan on drums. The trio made their social media presence in March of this year and debuted their first single, “Blind by Design” in April this year.
In their latest single, “Halo”, there’s an echo of Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge within Aaron’s vocals but also a harshness that made me think of Benjamin Burnley of Breaking Benjamin.
With “Halo”, Periscians are showing off heavy melodic rock through precise vocal harmonies, a mix of clean and harsh vocals that lean towards the clean, pounding rhythms, and wailing guitars.
