The band says this of the song,
‘Lakehouse’ is a very special song to us and the most emotionally raw on the EP. It’s an ode to the paradox of fearing vulnerability whilst longing for connection. Sometimes the words are just too heavy to say out loud.
With their candid storytelling, “Lakehouse” becomes an open diary of sorts, allowing The Deep Blue to fearlessly expose their wounds and scars and allowing the listener to examine their own wounds and scars at the same time.
