LISTEN: “Never Be Mine This Christmas Time” by TEM-PLE

I first learned of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) through RuPaul’s Drag Race when season 11 winner Yvie Oddly revealed her diagnosis to the other queens. Affecting 1 in 500, those with EDS have a rare inherited condition that impacts connective tissue that provides support in skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, internal organs and bones.

Meet TEM-PLE, the duo of Suzette and Aurora, who are bringing EDS to the forefront with their Christmas single “Never Be Mine This Christmas” featuring Janayah and the Keynotes Gospel Choir

With Suzette’s expertise in production and songwriting, paired with Aurora’s talent for songwriting and sound design, the duo creates powerful music that not only raises awareness about important issues, but also inspires people to think differently.

The duo also have first hand experience with EDS. Regarding her diagnosis, Aurora said,

“Doctors misdiagnosed me with everything from growing pains to fibromyalgia. But that was an improvement on being told that it was all in my head or dismissed as an attention seeker. No one should have to go through this experience, so I wanted to do what I could to make sure they don’t.”

Written by the duo, “Never Be Mine This Christmas” isn’t just another holiday feel good song. It’s a powerful holiday anthem aimed at letting others know they are not alone.

TEM-PLE isn’t just raising awareness either, they’re also raising funds. Donate or for more information about EDS, visit www.ehlers-danlos.com.
