Max Blansjaar unveils the slow-burning masterpiece, “Red Tiger” from his debut album False Comforts set to be released on June 21. Clocking in at six-and-a-half minutes, the contemplative “Red Tiger” marks a departure from his previous upbeat singles “Anna Madonna” and “Burning In Our Name”.
Originally composed on a humble Casio keyboard when he was just seventeen, “Red Tiger” evolved over the years. Reflecting on the song’s genesis, Max muses,
“It’s nice revisiting old songs because in some ways they’re kind of like time capsules, but in some other ways they’re as true as they always were, just their meaning has changed.”
Thematically rich, “Red Tiger” invites listeners on a journey of interpretation, its meaning evolving alongside life’s twists and turns. Max’s lyrics and haunting melodies evoke a sense of depth and introspection, capturing the essence of navigating through a chaotic world that remains as wild and unpredictable as ever.
With “Red Tiger,” Max Blansjaar not only showcases his growth as a songwriter but also invites one to explore the mutable landscapes of their own emotions and experiences. As the debut album approaches, Max’s latest single promises to be a standout moment, offering a glimpse into the artist’s soul through the lens of poignant and ever evolving music.
