Does a band like Ghost need any help promoting their latest project? No. Diehard fans will devour their latest offering with ease. Myself included.
But covering Shakespears Sister’s 1992 hit, “Stay”, well that deserves some love.
No stranger to the world of horror movies, the cover will be featured in the closing credits of Insidious: The Red Door and if you’re unfamiliar with Shakespears Sister, the duo is former Bananarama songstress Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit, who co-wrote Clapton’s hit “Lay Down Sally”.
Written by the duo and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), the ballad features Marcella on lead vocals and with the cover, Patrick Wilson takes Marcella’s lyrics while Tobias takes Siobhan’s.
Ghost doesn’t stray far from the original song. Tobias and Patrick’s vocals melt together harmoniously while the music is atmospheric and haunting.
