“Stranger,” the latest single from Rinse, the moniker of Naarm/Melbourne-based artist Joe Agius, featuring Los Angeles producer and songwriter Caroline Loveglow, is bursting with a haunting vocal choir, 90s breakbeats, and dreamy shoegaze guitars. The song evokes the magic of chance encounters that develop into deep connections over a single night.
Meeting on tour, Rinse describes the experience of working with Caroline,
““I always felt like there was something major missing from the song which I couldn’t put my finger on and when she sent through that layered vocal choir bit and I added it into the intro and choruses, it just felt finally complete.”
While Joe is also known for fronting the Australian band Hatchie, Rinse shows off a different facet of his musical side, one that is filled with dreamy guitars, 80s drum loops, and a soft ethereal edge that is lush and vivacious
