The latest single, “Toad Venom” by Orlando-based psychedelic rock outfit Timothy Eerie is a trip the light fantastic that takes one through a sonic maze of duelling guitars, percussions that run wild, and tenuous vocals that hide within the hyper fun chaos..
From their album Work Free Drug Place, Eerie says this of the song’s title,
The title of the song is based on the venom of the Sonoran desert toad which contains 5 meo-dmt the strongest psychedelic known to man. The lyrics are about having to deal with uncomfortable experiences.
Eerie further adds,
The lyrics are about having to deal with uncomfortable experiences, but I never think about what a song will be about before I start writing it. It’s more of a stream of consciousness approach.”
“Toad Venom” offers a frenzied and enthralling journey that is simultaneously visceral and whimsical. If one is familiar with the original Willy Wonka movie with Gene Hackman, they’ll understand when I say listening to “Toad Venom” is an audio version of the boat scene.
Good or bad trip, “Toad Venom” is an adventure filled with unexpected twists and turns, controlled chaos, and captivating fun.
