From his forthcoming EP, Here I Am (March 21st), Sasha Dawe creates a warm and hopeful anthem with his latest single, “Who I Am”. It’s a song that exemplifies Sasha’s distinctive ability to weave heartfelt storytelling with an organic sound rooted in his heritage.

Sasha offers a refreshing perspective on modern folk that is filled with his poetic lyricism and “Who I Am” captures that as well as the complexities of identity and resilience in a way that is both personal and universal. His gentle guitar strums and the subtle piano flourishes create a serene atmosphere that invites one into a space of introspection while maintaining an underlying sense of hope. The song’s introspective tone effortlessly balances with its uplifting message giving the song a dual edge of contemplativeness and encouragement.

Playing a role in shaping the track is Sasha’s African heritage. It adds rich textures that blend traditional elements with contemporary folk elements and this fusion of influences is a hallmark of his upcoming EP, Here I Am, where he continues to explore themes of perseverance and self-discovery, set against the stunning backdrop of Namibia’s landscapes.

In his unique ability to balance vulnerability with warmth, Sasha establishes himself as a distinct voice in the indie folk scene with “Who I Am”.
