NEW NOISE: “Friend or Faux” by Bitter Kisses featuring ChuggaBoom

Biter Kisses have fully grown into the band they were always meant to be. While I feel they officially said goodbye to ‘the self-proclaimed pop music you can beat your friends up to’ in their singles “Dissolve” and “Loveless”, their latest “Friend or Faux” continues to build on what its predecessor “Social Demons” laid the foundation for…great fucking bangers.

The band has always had a rock and metal edge to them, but in “Friend or Faux” there’s a clear shift from playful aggression to something sharper and more self-aware. There’s a tighter purpose for driving a song built on attitude rather than on pop novelty.

Featuring ChuggaBoom, the track leans into confrontation with confidence by trading cheeky chaos for a focused bite. Gemma’s vocals carry frustration with a precision that allows her to deliver lines that feel deliberate instead of flippant. She’s angry and by god, you’re going to know about it. She’s not alone though, the band helps channel that attitude into the song without relying on clutter. They simply let the tone and pacing do the heavy lifting.

Bitter Kisses no longer sound like they are testing an identity. With “Friend or Faux”, it captures a band that knows exactly who they are, channeling attitude, anger, and sass into a track that feels controlled, cutting, and unapologetically direct.
