Bath’s These Foundations unveiled their second EP, Infinity, just last month and the four-track release serves as a natural progression from their 2022 EP, Eternity, showcasing the band’s continued exploration of fresh perspectives and new musical journeys.
Originally formed in 2017 as Viridian Dawn, These Foundations embarked on a sonic journey that blended progressive metal, thrash, and metalcore to carve out a distinctive sound. However, a hiatus prompted not just a name change but also welcomed new members, leading to an evolution in their musical trajectory.
For me, the sound of These Foundations could be the little brother of Rise Against and Against Me. They have wonderfully fused vocal and music elements of both bands into their own.
The EP is a relentless barrage of heavy in your face music that is intertwined with vocals that showcase Adam Watsun‘s versatility. He effortlessly transitions between clean, melodic tones and raw, harsh vocals, adding depth and dynamism to the band’s sound.
Infinity offers a weighty punch, both musically and vocally. Each track resonates with a powerful intensity that grips one from start to finish. The fusion of aggressive instrumentals and Andy’s vocal range creates an exhilarating listening experience that demands attention.
