On Beyond The Dawn, Anthea manages to sidestep the usual symphonic metal genre cliches by leaning into a much darker and more aggressive friction. While the orchestral depth they’re known for is still there, the record feels more confident and technically sharp, especially with the introduction of “The Sirens” (backing vocalists Mel Del Real and Astrid Anaya) adding a new layer of vocal texture.
The standout moment for me has to be “Wanderer’s Quell.” It captures a moment of pure emotional release through rapid-fire riffs and a striking contrast between clean melodic passages and harsh vocals. It’s not just a heavy track for the sake of it. It’s a narrative about breaking toxic bonds and finding the strength to move forward.
What makes Beyond The Dawn unique is how it balances the high energy intensity with atmospheric arrangements that never feel like filler. It’s a record about growth and transformation that actually sounds as resilient as its themes.
