WATCH: “Me” by Ski Team

The video for “Me,” the latest single from Brooklyn-based artist Ski Team, masterfully mirrors the song’s themes of self-discovery and the uncertainty of redefining relationships. Directed with a minimalist yet evocative approach, the visuals focus on intimate, unguarded moments that feel deeply personal, aligning perfectly with Ski Team’s introspective narrative.

Lucie Lozinski, the creative force behind Ski Team, pairs her crystalline vocals and gritty instrumentation with a visual style that’s as layered as her music. The video’s muted palette and deliberate pacing create a dreamlike quality, drawing one into its quiet intensity. Scenes featuring subtle movements and lingering gazes emphasise the vulnerability and fear of embracing change, offering a raw, human perspective.

Collaborating with producer Daniel Knowles and a unique ensemble that includes a saxophonist serendipitously discovered on a dating app, Ski Team channels both spontaneity and precision into her work. The saxophone, a standout in the track, is brought to life visually with moments that highlight its mournful yet hopeful tone.

The video for “Me” feels like a natural extension of Ski Team’s storytelling. Its ability to capture the discomfort and eventual empowerment of letting go makes it a standout in the indie pop landscape. By embracing simplicity and emotional honesty, it leaves a mark that’s as raw as it is resonant.
