Ryan Adams: Blood on the Tracks

An artist still musically contributing to 2022, is Ryan Adams.

Having already released four of his own works this year with Chris, Romeo & Juliet, FM, and Devolver and then covering Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska track for track, Ryan added one more album to his discography with another track by track cover of Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan.

Released in January of 1975, Blood on the Tracks was Dylan’s 15th studio album and is considered one of his greatest albums.

Ryan says this of the album,

Blood on the Tracks is another view of my favorite album of all time, by my favorite songwriter of all time and spirit animal Bob Dylan. Sacrilege maybe, but I’m doing it anyway. It’s important to stay on your toes, and frankly after this beautiful year of climbing this mountain again, my body is broken but my mind is pacing the floors…so it’s time to get busy.

Just as he did for Nebraska, Ryan also honours Blood on the Tracks. At times he vocally inhabits his spirit animal and transcends his idol’s sound, aligning with what Ryan is known for. Blood on the Tracks is a beautiful ode from one prolific songwriter to another.

MUST LISTEN TRACK: “A Simple Twist of Fate” and “Shelter from the Storm”

Ryan has made Blood on the Tracks a free download on his PAX-AM site.
