ALBUM REVIEW: Chasing Euphoria by Lutharo

Canada’s melodic metal quartet, Lutharo, returns with their sophomore album, Chasing Euphoria (March 15, Atomic Fire Records). With their signature mix of heavy, melodic death, and thrash metal, the foursome is hitting hard and aiming to hurt.

Since their formation in 2014, Lutharo has orchestrated a convergence of power and death, interlacing intricately crafted melodies and harmonies with unwavering vigour. Vocalist Krista Shipperbottom, guitarist Victor Bucur, bassist Chris Pacey, and drummer Cory Hofing exhibit a refined synergy, while refusing to confine themselves to predictability.

Chasing Euphoria sees the band fearlessly venturing into uncharted territories as the album expertly mixes hauntingly beautiful atmospheres with raw, unbridled power and aggression.

Driven by breakneck guitar riffs, rapid fire drums, and thunderous basslines, Chasing Euphoria is a whirlwind of sound. Amidst the unadulterated metal fervour, Krista’s vocals reign supreme. Whether delivered with crystalline clarity or searing harshness, her commanding presence demands unwavering attention.

Chasing Euphoria is an unapologetic symphony of metal mastery.
