ALBUM REVIEW: Pisces Pie by Odelet

Pisces Pie from Odelet had me hooked from the first to the last note. A beautiful blend of jazzy notes and avant-garde vocals that are as hypnotic as they are intoxicating, this album is a mesmerising journey through sound and emotion.

Beginning her musical journey while attending Portland State University for Visual Art, Odelet recorded her first record Experiment before founding her own production company, Everlasting Tape. This path led to the creation of The Angels Album, where the virtuoso continued her exploration of minimalism in sound while incorporating elements of soul and R&B.

On the album, she says,

“When it comes to my vocals, I just hear what I hear… something about it can feel like jazz… but in terms of production, this album was definitely inspired by my love of old school hip-hop.”

As an ode to classic hip-hop production and siren singers, Pisces Pie’s eleven songs seamlessly blend the fusion of genres and the artistry of sound. With its hypnotic vocals and production, Pisces Pie is not only a captivating experience but proof of Odelet‘s creativity.

Delicious and delectable, it’s time to savour every note in Pisces Pie.
