The latest single, “Genesis”, from Genus Ordinis Dei’s upcoming album The Beginning (December 8th, Eclipse Records) continues the storytelling that was introduced in the lead single, “Changing Star”.
Once again, with their fourth studio album the band is giving fans not just music to listen to but a cinematic experience. Pleasing both aural and visual senses. The twelve-track album will include ‘Episodes’ (videos) that will allow one to dive deep into the storyline of the album through visual elements.
“Genesis” is sonically heavy and beautifully poetic through its lyrics, music, and vocals. Without the visuals, one can easily sense the heaviness and doom that is on the horizon, but once the visuals are added, the lyrics and tone of the song take on a new shape and meaning.
If you recall in the video for “Changing Star”, Episode 1 of The Beginning, we were introduced to Brother and Sister and a set of cannibals and now in Episode 2, “Genesis” introduces us to a new character, “The Fallen”.
The Fallen teaches the duo a new truth.
