At first listen, Ålesund’s latest single, “Rode Off Into the Sun” from their upcoming EP of the same name is the soundtrack to a day in the life of someone who has defeated adversity.
Of the song, Ålesund’s Alba Torriset said,
I was so impressed by a friend who had been dealt a rough hand and instead of wallowing and seeing the glass as half empty, she just dusted herself off and charged on with making the best out of her life. It was inspiring to witness and became the main theme of the song.
While lyrically powerful, it’s the vocals of Alba that steal the spotlight of the song. She’s a powerhouse and has the vocal strength that reminds me of Florence and the Machine.
“Rode Off Into the Sun” is a reminder that no matter how tough life gets, with determination we can all ride off into the sun.
