From her forthcoming debut EP, My Dreamworld (set to release on October 27th), comes the haunting title track by Lilac Haze.
Making her debut earlier this year with her double single, “The Ghost That I Once Knew” and “Lilac Haze”, the songwriter known on the streets as Katrina Swift, garnered support from RTE and Music Daily to name a few.
“My Dreamworld” continues Lilac Haze’s soft haunting vocals, but the mood of the music and lyrics are more sombre as if caught in the space between light and dark.
Lilac Haze confesses this about the song, co-written with All About Eve’s Julianne Regan,
“Even though we worked remotely, there was always close communication and so it was still a really warm way to work. Julianne created and recorded much of the instrumentation, and once I had my final vocals done, I sent them to her and she worked her magic with the mixing. I know we both feel it was a joy to collaborate with one another, and we’re excited that we’re continuing to create music together. This is a song that reflects a myriad of subconscious feelings and emotions that come alive in dreams, creating their own reality.”
Seamless and pitch perfect, the collaboration between the two artists results in a song that is beautiful in its quietude and emotional depth.
