Lola Aviva’s latest single, “Paint Me a Picture” dives into the complexities of getting to know someone intimately. Using vivid metaphors to explore the layers of personality and hidden emotions, the track seamlessly blends Lola’s rich vocals, poignant lyrics, and lush guitar melodies.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Lola shares,
“I’ve always loved old songs like Lovin’ You by Minnie Ripperton, and the smooth light touch of Sade. I also love the work of 60s British painter Pauline Boty, she created a picture of a song by Kitty Kallen called ‘My Colouring Book’. The idea of pairing sound and vision has always appealed to me, that’s why I make my video clips and design my covers.”
“Paint Me a Picture” not only demonstrates Lola’s talent for seamlessly blending diverse musical influences into a unified and emotionally impactful sound but highlights her vocal prowess but lyrical creativity. From its smooth and soulful melodies to its simple rhythms, it captivates from beginning to end.
