Ghost Fan Club debuted in 2020 as an outlet for creative Tyler Costolo’s softer side. With a handful of singles and an EP, Goodby World, Hello Ghosts released, Tyler returned his attention to his metal inspired project Two Meters.
But fans should not despair. Ghost Fan Club returns with “Shoulders” from the forthcoming EP Ghost Fan Club (July 5th).
On the song, Tyler says,
“This is a song trying to make peace with my own inner sadness. I’m prone to depression and sleepless nights. The line “I tried to kill myself before I was born” is true in a round about way. I was completely wrapped in the umbilical cord and was suffocating. I was basically dark purple when I was born due to a lack of oxygen.”
Ghost Fan Club‘s haunting vocals possess an ethereal quality that effortlessly conveys the depths of inner sadness, echoing the aches and pains of depression. With music that transcends the boundaries of mere melody and rhythm, they become a vessel through which the raw emotions of despair and melancholy are expressed with astonishing clarity and intensity.
