South Wales based Ratoon formed with social media during the pandemic. So, I can confidently say they are a relatively new band to everyone’s radar, including my own.
After lockdown, the four piece of Jack Garrett (vocals, rhythm guitar), Sam Davies (lead guitar), Matti Huxtable (bass), and Eifion Davies (drums) threw themselves into a recording studio with renowned producer Richard Jackson.
On the song, the band says,
‘Someone Else’ is largely based around suspicion, attachment, and miscommunication within a relationship. Something each and every one of us have experienced or witnessed at some point. The power and strength in certain guitar tones and vocal lines scream desperation and frantic fast-paced thoughts, touching all the right emotions at all the right times.
“Someone Else” is upbeat, catchy, and infectious from lyrics to music. One will find themselves bopping along to the song.
With “Someone Else” being their fifth release ever, Ratoon continues to show that no matter how long you’ve been together as a band, when you have talent, it shines.
