The latest from Pollyanna Blue, “Vultures”, triggers the memory of a line from “Sugarbuzz” by Marvelous 3 – “and they brought back the rock and the singer was cocky”.
While I’m sure vocalist and guitarist Zoe Collins is anything but cocky, the Zoe, Rich Earle on bass and vocals, and Neil Loftus on drums piece have definitely brought back the rock!
“Vultures” is the heaviest I’ve heard Pollyanna Blue, and I fully support their exploration of a more intense sound. The explosive track is not just an experiment, but a dynamic evolution, showing the band’s confidence and growth. It’s evident that the three-piece is finding their footing, yet they continue to push beyond their comfort zones, creating a powerful and compelling sound.
Showcasing their versatility and willingness to evolve, this heavier side adds a new dimension to Pollyanna Blue’s music. It’s thrilling to witness their journey as they carve out a bold and distinct sound that is all their own.
