I am currently crushing on the vocal stylings of Australia’s JEFFE. For her song, “WHOEVER YOU LOVE, I’M COOL” she says, “It’s the sound of a day dream – half asleep, dusty, its unreliable narrator convinced only of soon having to descend back down into the haze from where it came”.
Boy, does that description nail the song perfectly.
This song gives me a rainy day in Paris feels! I envision “WHOEVER YOU LOVE, I’M COOL” accompanying a black and white film with Audrey Hepburn peering into a cafe and seeing the man she loves with another.
