Following the success of his debut EP, Headed North, pop sensation Noel is continuing to make hearts swoon with his latest single “Without Calling”.
A melancholic reflection on a fractured relationship, “Without Calling” opens with a soft guitar and allows a spotlight to shine on Noel‘s soulful vocals that are loaded with raw emotion.
In discussing the inspiration behind the song moody an introspective song, Noel shares
“‘Without Calling’ is about the struggle between doing what you want and what’s right. In this case it’s about wanting to love but not feeling good enough for it, which ends up with you distancing yourself from it.”
The creative process behind “Without Calling” was an organic collaboration among Noel and his two trusted songwriting companions, crafted in the intimate setting of a cabin retreat.
He adds,
“I find that there is something quite magical about going away to a cabin and writing without all the studio gear, just us and a guitar. The sound is a little bit rougher and dirtier than my previous stuff which is a path I fell into naturally and really enjoy making and listening to.”
Embracing a slightly rougher and dirtier sound has added depth and complexity to Noel‘s repertoire and this new sonic territory with “Without Calling” is soul-stirring.
