ALBUM REVIEW: Domestic Majestic by Silent Forum

Domestic Majestic by Silent Forum presents a humorous yet poignant exploration of self-care amidst the humdrum of everyday life. With tongue firmly in cheek, the album traverses a range of themes, from the disgruntled office worker navigating remote work in “Here’s the Email” to the self-analysing musings of sleepless nights in “Me but not Tired.”

One standout track, “Treat Yourself,” blends honest lyrics with a buoyant pop vibe that urges one to prioritise self-love.

“Petrol Station Flowers” shifts dramatically into an ambient chamber pop vibe with its haunting, atmospheric, and ethereal slide guitar and resonating synthesisers.

“Better With You” takes a bold direction, incorporating classical music elements into its 80s rock-infused melody while “Yes Man” features dynamic choral sections reminiscent of a driving anthem and lyrics that reflect the challenges of working under a psychopathic boss.

The album’s diversity is further showcased in “The Grand Burstin Hotel,” where the band embraces a swing rhythm that offers another side of Silent Forum’s sound.

Silent Forum doesn’t rest on their laurels in sound or creativity for Domestic Majestic. Each song is its own musical journey of resilience and self-discovery and each song demonstrates Silent Forum’s versatility and creativity.
