ALBUM REVIEW: Fate’s Right Hand by James Frankland

My listen list is ever growing and the writing of said listen list relies heavily on my free time (aka when I’m not working my full time job) and while I have good intentions of trying to be on time a relevant with my thoughts on the music that is out there, I am sometimes late to the party.

Case in point, this review of Fate’s Right Hand by James Frankland. The sophomore album, follows 2021’s debut album Dystopian Utopia and finds the guitar virtuoso continuing to craft cinematic masterpieces that traverse emotions and space and time.

James’ music transcends boundaries, evoking a myriad of emotions through the strings of his guitar. Each note and chord is a stroke on a sonic canvas, transforming his guitar into a storyteller, narrating tales of the human spirit. Music, liberated from the need for vocals, becomes an intimate connection with the audience in James’ hands. Through the strings of his guitar, he communicates in a language understood by the heart, creating a profound and unique intimacy with those who listen.

The work on Fate’s Right Hand is not just mere music, but an odyssey through sound and emotion, where every strum and pluck carries the weight of a thousand sentiments. With the power to transport one, to evoke forgotten memories, and to inspire one’s deepest contemplations, the album showcases the boundless capabilities of music’s voice.
