ALBUM REVIEW: Selling Lies by Stefski & Hutch

Stefski & Hutch’s latest album Selling Lies is the embodiment of defiance and resilience. Both which are the tried and true elements of rock-n-roll just as much as sex and drugs are. Blending blistering riffs and driving rhythms, Stefski & Hutch have created a unique mix of good ol’ rock-n-roll for the soul.

Inspired by the changing world around us, Selling Lies is a wonderful melting pot of funk to metal and soul to psychedelia and is full of riffs and grooves that defies categorization. Stefski’s vocals and guitar with Hutch’s backing vocals and lead guitar, command or should I say demand attention while Maciej Duszak drives the rhythm with finesse and ease.

With its post-grunge punk vibe, “Retaliation” erupts with energy and offers a beacon of hope among the dark visions of humanity’s regression. The track’s fast pace and edgy guitars and melodic sensibility hooks one from the start. While tracks like “Not in my Name,” “Freedom of Speech,” and “Spine of Men (Revolutions)” aren’t meant to indicate Selling Lies as a political album, it does show the band does not shy away from being political. Selling Lies showcases their dedication to pushing boundaries and exploring new sonic territories.

Selling Lies is a statement of intent from a band ready to make their mark on the world of rock music. Push play and experience the magic for yourself.
